Rain Barrels and Water Conservation
Due to popular demand, Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources is hosting a second workshop on Rain Barrels and Water Conservation on Thursday, April 9, 2026. The program will take place from 6pm to 8:30pm at the Lockwood 4-H Youth Center, 355 Court House - South Dennis Road, CMCH, NJ 08210.
The presenter is Lauren Heraux, AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassador, Watershed Management Area (WMA) 16. This workshop will discuss how to build a rain barrel including the construction, installation, and maintenance of rain barrels. Rain barrels can help protect our watersheds by reducing runoff, conserving water, and controlling pollution. Also, participants in this workshop will get the opportunity to build their own rain barrels to take home with them.
The cost of the workshop for participants choosing to build a rain barrel to take home is $25. This option is limited to ten people, so, register early at: https://go.rutgers.edu/zqaq9jv6.
The cost for the lecture without a barrel is $5. Register at: https://go.rutgers.edu/5f4vut8e.
